Emily MacDonald is a recent graduate of Acadia University's Bachelor of Music program and is a passionate musician. Her principal instrument is the piano and she studied under Ronald Tomarelli and John Hansen while at Acadia. 

 

During her undergraduate degree, Emily worked as the teaching assistant for the Acadia University Symphonic Band under the direction of Ardith Haley and Tristan De Borba. She was also appointed to percussion section leader while playing in the ensemble. Emily has an extensive amount of volunteer and work experience with children and youth in both choral and instrumental settings, including the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir and the Acadia Youth Band. As well, she has been involved in socially developmental settings as a volunteer with the Acadia S.M.I.L.E. program. Emily has received a number of acknowledgements, scholarships, and awards in music and for her leadership skills. 

 

Emily is from Bowmanville, Ontario and will be returning to Wolfville, Nova Scotia in the fall of 2017 for her Bachelor of Education degree. She is eagerly looking forward to continuing her studies towards becoming a great elementary educator.
