Tricia Howe began her career in the music industry in the Manitoba music community as a resource person and performer. For the last 17 years, Tricia has been the educational resource person for Long & McQuade Music in both Manitoba and Alberta. Tricia specializes in concert and jazz repertoire selection for the chain, and produces the New Issue Favorites Collection annually. In Manitoba, she was actively involved with Manitoba Band Association partnering on many events and working with music educators, and chairing the MBA Optimist Committee. In 2011,Tricia was honoured with the Manitoba Band Association Award of Distinction for 2011. Since moving to Alberta, Tricia has been responsible for the Canadian Band Association's Canadian Repertoire Feature, joined the Alberta Band Association as VP Programs and Services and been honoured by membership in Phi Beta Mu. She acts as secretary of the Calgary Association for the Development of Music Education, Sub Committee Lead for Recruiting on the Visiting Bands Committee for the Calgary Stampede, and works on the board of directors with the Alberta International Band Festival, Music Conference Alberta, and works with Music Mentors International as Division Head for Publications. She has presented at Avenues at Brandon University, the University of Calgary, the University of Alberta, and Music Conference Alberta. Tricia lives in rural Alberta, and in her spare time, sings bluegrass with her husband, Keith.
