Kelly Lovelady is an Australian conductor based in London and in increasing demand abroad. Kelly has appeared as a Guest Conductor with ensembles across the UK, US, Canada, Europe and Australia and has enjoyed repeat invitations to conduct for Greenpeace, City of London Festival, Cluster New Music & Integrated Arts Festival and Pop Montreal International Music Festival. Kelly has appeared with soloists including Lara St John, John Williams, Emma Pearson, Charlotte Church, Amy Dickson, Jayson Gillham and Elena Xanthoudakis and has assisted conductors Vladimir Jurowski, Otto Tausk and Richard Bonynge.
In recent years Kelly has joined the London Philharmonic Orchestra as Assistant Conductor for several performances at Royal Festival Hall, and Konzert und Theater St Gallen as Assistant Conductor for the Swiss premiere of George Benjamin’s opera Written on Skin. In 2015 she was a rehearsal conductor for Simon Rattle’s Young Orchestra for London project and has performed at venues including the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe, Union Chapel, LSO St Luke’s, Australia House London, Rachel Browne Theatre, Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Société des Arts Technologiques Montreal.
Kelly is the founding Artistic Director and conductor of Ruthless Jabiru, a London chamber orchestra dedicated to exploring humanitarian stories through New music.
