Exit Cards can be used as part of a backwards-designed class. This resource offers many ideas for quick prompts to assses student learning. Other tips include working with students to collaboratively create a list of strategies or prompts that will help them acquire appropriate and efficient ways of describing the goals or techniques they will write on the card. Always encourage them to personalize what they record on the exit card, but help them discover that musicians use reflective dialogue as a way to learn and develop. These conversations are also excellent opportunities for students to practice incorporating music terminology into their vocabulary.
